What's on my work desk this week

This is how my desk looks this week .....not much different to last week visually !!!

I have worked my way through all the photo's now I am going through all the various paper work

The photos I could not work out who they were I have put in bags and will take them when I visit relatives to see if anyone can help me.
I am now putting all the written material in date order
I have to say it has been more emotional than I expected .

This is a letter Great Uncle Ted sent to his wife my Great Auntie Eliza Jane
It was sent on Feb 14th Valentines day, in it he tells his wife that he longs to hold her in his arms and that he is pleased the dr is happy with how her 3rd pregnancy is going and how he is keeping his fingers crossed for a little girl to go with there two boys ! He is sorry he did not get leave to be able to spend Christmas with all.
The sad thing is the next thing she got on the 18th February was a telegram to say he was killed in action... He never got to see his third child which was a boy named Ted after him.

This is a letter my Great Aunt got from the king regarding his death

I found this card send to my Great Uncle Ted from his two boys, this is over 75 years old yet the painting the boys did for their dad are still as bright as when they painted them.
It makes me think will people find our cards we have made for there loved ones in 75 years time!!!!!!
Next week I hope to show you how I have put my album together and the papers I am using

I haven't achieved much else in my crafting this week except making a tag or two using a Star template I won in my stash of stuff for runner up for Scrapbooker of the year 2012

What's on my work desk

This is how my desk looks at the moment
I have started to sort through all the family photos I was given recently

Thankfully a few of them had some info on the back.......,sadly not many

I have been thinking for weeks about how I was going to Scrapbook my family history and it was upsetting me that I hadn't got a plan......it felt overwhelming !
Well I have worked out a solution that will work for me.I will share this on my blog over the coming weeks, I now feel motivated!
I have also found time to do a little bit on my journal... Here are a few pictures work is still in progress

I have also worked out a way to store my 12 x 12 stencils and all my other stencils in this box.

I was very thrilled when Dyan Reaveley put out this tweet this week about my work and showed it on her Facebook page ......many thanks...love what she does!

Well I think that's enough from me, I can smell the dinner burning!!!
Thank you for visiting my desk...

What's on my work desk this week

This was my desk on Tuesday night and it still looks the same now!

You can see I have been doing a tag and a bit of work on my journal
I feel unsure of what I want to achieve this year and where I am going, if that makes sense!
I know I need to do lots of family history scrapbooking ......but at the same time I can not seem to settle down to get it done, just need to give myself a good talking to!

This is a close up of the tag on my desk... I was just playing with my pan pastels and wanted to try something new........ I had read that using a rubber to remove colour works well... So this is my first attempt!I have entered it in the Pan Pastel Challenge Blog...click here to seehttp://www.panpasteluk.blogspot.com

Thank you for visiting my desk have a great day

Happy New Year

Well what a mixture 2012 was!

It started off very tough with my daughter so very very ill, taught me to realise even if your only given tiny odds of 3% ..... It's still a chance and you can go with it.
She's not completely well and never will be totally better.... But she is doing really well and got engaged this autumn

With that in mind ...................... I entered Scrapbook Magazines Scrapbooker of the year and was greeted by a parcel full of all these goodies and a note saying I was a runner up!

In December Craft Stamper Magazine published a two page article that I did for them about stamping on copper!

So what started out as the worst year of my life, turned good and it teaches us we must never give up hope even when the odds are very small.

Many people have New Year resolutions of what they want to do......... I just am thankful
Thank you for taking the time to check out my blog, please call back to see what creations I come up with during the next weeks and months.
