Stampotique Designers Challenge 189 Unusually Shaped card

This week our hostess is Arwen and she has challenged us to make a card in an unusual shape!
She wants us thinking out of the box, anyone can make a square card, Arwen likes unusual creations!
So with this in mind the cogs and gears in my brain began to move.........
And I made this card
Here are a few step by step pictures, I used 4 different Stampotique rubber stamps starting with A stamp Arwen herself designed...
Stamped with it on a print I made on my Gelli plate
Next I stamped this sentiment in one of the cogs I masked
Then stamped two stamps and combined them ( head from Froggy on a different body)
Then glued down all the cogs onto a triangle card
Then put my lady on the top
I hope that is a unusual shaped card!

Stampotique Designers Challenge 188: your favourite background technique

This week our hostess is Nellie, she has got us breaking out our techniques!
What's your favourite technique to make backgrounds? Nellie said she likes, distress ink, on a craft sheet, she uses momentos, brusho's distress stains, whatever she feels like working with, quick and easy and a different surprising result every time.
A method I am enjoying doing a lot recently is marbling, I love the surprise result I get every time, it's very simple you just need a large bowl, verse etc fill it with cold water all alcohol ink and dip your card into the water and pull it out! Leave it to dry.... It's that simple.
Here is a PL layout I made all the cards have been made using this technique and Stampotique rubber stamps.
Here are a few step by step photos to give you more of an idea...
I stamped using Stazon and then water coloured this image
When dry cut her out and added her to the marbled card
Stamped these stampotique hearts and added them to a 3x4 card
Stamped laughter
Stamped precious with a stampotique rubber stamp
Stamped The crown

And there we have it ... One of May favourite background techniques and lots of Stampotique rubber stamps!!!!!!!!
Now why don't you join in the fun and show us your favourite technique, there is a link on the right to the SDC blog, so come along and join in the fun!
