stampotique Designers Challenge..... Black and White and a pop of colour

Hello,
It's Wednesday and there is a new challenge at the Stampotique designers challenge blog!
This week Kay is our host and has given us the challenge of Black and White and a pop of colour !
This is what Kay had to say........

It is my turn to host the Stampotique Designers' Challenge
this week!  What might seem like a simple challenge to most, for some, whose work is generally full of color, it really will be a challenge.  But, for all of us, it's good to try something different. I have been on a black'n'white artistic kick lately because I love the crisp freshness it can bring to a card, journal page or ATC. Whatever you decide to do, keep it black and white with just a pop of color!  Get creative this week and join us!

So with this in mind I got my little journal book out and some black and white paint, then found my pop colour ... Neon Pink! And set to work and here is my page!
I used my Stampotique stamp by Roc Nicholas
Now it's over to you to have ago at the challenge ..... There is a chance to win some wonderful Stampotique vouchers as well! So just click on the link marked Stampotique Designers Challnge Blog and off you go.........

What's on my work desk Wednesday

My messy desk....
Some 12 x12 sheets of card stock I am going to use to make a set of Project life cards with. Paint tube of neon pink! Craft bag on the lazy Susan, makes life so much easier!!!!!Various flowers cut out and stamped, my little Journal, here it is up close
A pile of sheet music, given to me by a friend, I've used it lots, for scrapbook layouts, journals etc
While I was doing my journal I made a get well card for a lady who has had a knee operation, the bunny has a bandage round it's paw!
There are a couple of boxs one has rubber stamps in and one has stamped images in!
At the front right is a basket with lots of washi tape in. there is a big silver roaster tin, which is for spraying projects in!
Now craft wise this week, I've been doing my grand daughter Lara's  project life type album this will be for her mum to keep, so taste wise it will be cute and pink and cuddly! Spent about 6 hours on it so far as I have to do a bit of catch up as she is 3 months old! Note the box of tissues as I have been struggling with hay fever this week!
And I made this tag card.
And I am working on a new page in my Lara journal, will show you next week when it's finished.
I made a couple of ATCs to post for a swap, but forgot to take a photo!
Well that's about it for me this week, looking forward to Stamperama on Sunday with a group of friends and a crafting workshop on Saturday!

If you would like to visit other crafty desks just click on the link marked Stamping Ground on the right further down, Julia will explain all!

Thank you for finding time to leave a  comment and I I will try and return all comments

Christmas in July ... Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog 157

It's Wednesday so there is a new challenge over at the Stampotique Designers. Challenge blog, this week the hostess is the talented Gez, this is what she had to say.........

Hi Gez here, I am delighted to be your hostess for this weeks challenge.

It's never too early to start thinking about Christmas right?!! ;-) I thought it would be nice for us to spread a wave of festive cheer throughout Blogland!

Every year I set out with good intentions and imagine a great big stack of handmade Christmas cards all ready to send out nice and early in December, in reality I think it's happened once! So, lets do it together! Dig deep and crack open the Christmas stash box early!!

This is a fun challenge, I hope you enjoy it too!

So in the heat and sunshine, I put my thinking hat on and came up with snow!

So Gez here is my snowy project for you, a chalk clip board!

I used Frances typewriter stamps for the letters
And  Jo Capper Sandons Chilly snowman
And Carols teensy cube for the snowflakes
So  with these products I got my snowman clip board!
Must admit I'm not a summer lover I am happier when it snows!!!

Now it's your turn to join in, just click on the link marked Stampotique Designers Challenge and join in the fun

What's on my work desk Wednesday

Here is my desk at 6.30am this morning ....
To be honest I wasn't sure I was going to be able to get a photo of it, as I was bed bound yesterday with and horrid S and D bug!
On my desk are some neon pro makers and my new little 3x5 Gelli plate I have been having a go with

I watched a Barbra Grey u tube video the other day where she put her Gelli plate on a acrylic mount! Very clever I thought!  On my little stand is a little clip board I made with stampotique stamps.
I also recieved Happy Mail from the lovely Neet in the midday post last Wednesday from Neet
Here is her lovely ATC  and a little template, that was so kind of you Neet!

On Friday I went to a crafty friends to visit and did some more on my project life folder, I will show you that next week in a little bit of detail. Sunday my mum and sister came to visit so with all the visiting and a whole day sick in bed I have not achieved much!  Although I did achieve this..... I made it onto the new Craft Stamper Make it Take it Design Team .
So this should be fun

SDC 156 ......Books

There is a new challenge today at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog, this week, the talented  France has set the challenge for us and this is what she said,

Hi! My name is France and I'm a bookworm. No doubt there are a lot of other bookworms among our lovely Stampotiquers.
I would like to know about your favorite books. So my challenge for you, should you accept it, is to create a piece, inspired by your favorite book. Let the story, the title, the cover, a quote inspire you! Now you might have a problem choosing your all time favorite book, don't worry, it's not like you are writing it in stone, just pick one. Or maybe your problem is that you don't like reading at all. Here is how to cheat: go for your favorite film based on a book, we won't tell ;)

France Papillon Charles is a very talented lady, there is a link to her blog on the right hand side of my blog, just click on the link and you can see her fabulous work.

I always love reading to children, I think it is so important to start children reading at a young age, so I choose from the many childrens story's we have in out house!

And here is my project from Alice in Wonderland

Here are a few step by step photos
I started by spraying tissue paper with Dylusions ink spray
Then, covered the tag with the tissue and stamped using Frances alphabet the words I needed

Then, used black acrylic paint round the outside of my tags and added colour to the letters
Then, I stamped and coloured a cup of certainty and added a few beads
Next I glued everything in place  put both the tags together and added ribbon
And here are my tags
Thanks to France for a fun challenge, now why don't you join in the fun?
Just click on the link on the right hand side marked Stampotique Designers Challenge and join in!

What's on my work desk Wednesday

My desk.... In all it's glorious mess....
Paint and photos under my desk..... And lots of crafty fun on my desk!
It's been a very busy family week, with my sister and her husband visiting, village gala, my daughter's NCT group having a baby day here, as well as all the normal weekly stuff like Aquatone and grand daughter visiting ..... So I have not achieved as much as I would have like to! This was made worse when I tried to do a Christmas card, ( yes I did say that word) as I had an idea in my head, but after many wasted hours it just didn't look right!
So all I have achieved is this tag set..
And spraying my Lara journal with some inks and adding some Gesso!
So if you would like to visit some crafty desks ...
Just click on the link marked stamping ground on the right a bit further down and Julia will explain all to you. Thank you for taking the time to comment and I will try and return your visit.

It's a new challenge this week at the Stampotique Designers Challenge Blog,..........
The hostess is the talented Magda who has recently designed her first set of stamps for Stampotique ( link to her blog on the right hand side of my blog)
She has asked us to use newspaper or magazines in our project this week. she is happy for you to use a little piece or a large piece, or even use a whole page as a background the choice is yours!

So with this in mind I set to work and made this tag!
Here are a few step by step photos how I made the tag
After putting random newspaper on my tag
I stamped my stampotique image and coloured the waistcoat
Stamped the jacket onto book print
Coloured the image ready to be cut out and added gesso on top of the tag with the book print on

Added acrylic paint leaving the print showing
Stamped a quote from stampotique and added black acrylic paint to tag
Gluded everything down
Now my tag is done it's over to you to join in the fun, just click on the link on the right marked Stampotique Designers challenge and show us what you can do!

The coaster and the orange tag with Molly on, I made at a workshop I organised on Saturday were we invited Carol Fox to come and teach some fun techniques with the melt pot, napkins and spray inks and rubber stamps!

Here is a few step by step photos to show you how I made this project
I started with cardboard the I removed parts of then painted with white paint
Added some other colours and using black paint made a boarder round the outside ( a technique I did with Trish Latimer recently and Kate Crane last year)
Then used two of Frances stamps which I stamped on pattern paper
Then I stamped a few more images as you can see
Then put it all together like this
