What's on my work desk

Welcome to my desk
This is how it looks at the moment, rather tidy looking for me with two of my family history albums a box of family photos and my family history info folder and a few photos that need to go back in the folder

Now that's all rather boring isn't it ? .......so I will now show you how it looked on Monday morning!

Rather a mess I think so I spent most of the bank holiday getting my craft area cleaned up.
In my defence it got like it as I have been really productive doing lots of family history Scrapbook layouts that are going to be published in Scrapbook magazine. The first part of a three part series will be on sale on June 17th or there about, it's a series that cover three editions taking you through how to scrapbook your family history in easy to follow steps with lots of photo's to explain each step. It has taken me months to put it all together so I hope people will find it helpful! ( bit scared really!!!)

At the moment I am cat sitting for my daughter , these are the three bundles of fur I am looking after!

Well that's about it for me this week....... I do believe today is the WOW anniversary and ATC'S swaps are being done, my e mail is on the right hand side of this blog and I do have half a dozen ATC's I could swap if anyone is interested that I did using my Gelli plate. For more info about this and looking at other craft desk click on the link on the right hand side marked Stamping Ground and the lovely Julia will explain all.

Thank you for taking the time to visit me ... I do try and visit people who leave a comment, but do sometimes miss the odd one here and there, so I apologise if I have ever missed you.

What's on my work desk this week

Here is my desk

I am doing a double page layout at the moment and bits of it are on the desk along with a book about Sir Billy Butlin, a jar of buttons, ink sprays and distress inks, photo's, a zentangle book and many other bits and bobs

I have made four scrapbook layouts this week but am unable to show them to you yet... I will as soon as I can!

I have been journalling about family secrets this week, rather amazing what my Grandmother on my dad's side got up to!

This week I watched a u tube video,a sort of re enactment of of what was supposed to have happened with someone playing the part of my Grandmother, not sure about it all yet a little more research to find out some facts is needed.

Delving into family History can be rather surprising, well it has been with my family!!!!! But I guess that's what you get when two opposite ends of the social spectrum marry as in my parents case( my father was one of 9 children who's mother ran a brothel where as my mother was an only child who was fetch from hospital after her birth in a chauffeur drivenRolls Royce)
I am sure I will find out lots more as I carry on delving into my family history and will have fun Scrapbooking it!

What's on my work desk

Doing a few projects at the same time on my desk as I have so many ideas going through my head!

On my desk there is distress stains I am using, paints, buttons, Ink sprays to mention but a few things !!!!

Went to visit a crafty friend this weekend and along with a couple of other friends we all went to the Papermaze crop, nice to see about 50 people there. We spent time trying different ideas with our Gelli plates after the crop in the evening.

Made a birthday card for the future SIL and put vouchers inside for his favourite eating places! ( men and food normally work well together!)

Enjoyed using the distress stains so much when I made his card I carried on with them to make a scrapbook layout as you can see a little sneak of below!

After this I got my new Tim Holtz acrylic paints out and had a little go with them trying different techniques, not really sure where this is going yet but will come back to it at some point.

After this I had a play with some Dylusions ink sprays and a few jam jars making patterns and just messing around really..... Now have card stock with ink on but not sure what my plan is !!!!!!

Will have to work on this!!!
Thank you for taking the time to look round my desk this week. If you would like to find out more and visit other desk just click on the link on the right hand side of my blog marked stamping ground and Julia will explain all.

What's on my work desk

This is my desk at the moment

Rather tidy for me at the moment. You can see my Prima pencils I have been using today, some watercolour tubes (thinking of trying on my Gelli plate) cutters, cricut mats, rubber stamp, new craft stamper mag, blending stumps and blending solution plus a few other bits and bobs!

Here I was having a little colour with my Prisma pencils

I did this picture as it reminded me of my Grandad here is a picture so you can judge

Looks rather like him, I think !!!!!!

So those of you using Gelli plates are you washing all your masks after each use? I am in two minds as to should I wash them every time or allow the colour on them to transfer onto my next work..... What are your views?

Thank you for stopping by and have a look round my crafty desk, if you would like to look at other arty desks click on the link on the right marked Stamping Ground and Julia will explain all.
