Stampotique Designers Challenge Pink Turquoise and Polka Dots

Sam ( a link to her blog is on the right hand side of this post) set the challenge for us this week and this is what she said.........

I'm so excited to be sharing with you my love for polka dots. Almost every thing I own is dotty!

Polka dots are great fun as a main feature or as a delicate accent to artwork. My other love is my favourite colour combination, pink and turquoise. So for this weeks challenge I'm inviting you to have fun with my favourite things: Pink, Turquoise and Polka Dots! I can't wait to see your creations, so get your rubber out and have lots of fun creating :)

So with this in mind I set to work on a new journal I have been thinking about !

Here is the first layout in this journal

I incorporated all SAMs requirements into this journal page, and for the first time ever followed a sketch while putting this together that I found at http://scrap365.blogspot.co.uk
Here are a few photos of the process I used this week
I mixed my own colours using Dylusions ink sprays and sprayed my pages
Then found some polka dot stencils
And then used the Gesso
Then got stamping with lots of Stampotique rubber stamps, I used ALOT of stamps for this project!
Then did some stamping on the background
Then used the stencil and some distress ink to add more dots!
Then I inked some paper and added that
Then I layer it out to the sketch and glued it all down.
Now here is my questions............ How many stampotique rubber stamps did I use to make this journal page?????? Leave your answer with your comment please
Thank you for visiting and now it's over to you ..... Come and join us in this weeks challenge just click the button on the right for the Stampotique's designers challenge and join in the fun.

What's on my work desk Wednesday

Here is my desk.....
Well that doesn't look much fun does it..... This was it before I tided it up!!!!
That's more like it! Well on the desk you can see some pink spotty paper, this was left over after I had been doing a layout in my journal. I decided I would start a new journal and do some layouts about Lara, so I did the first one with a picture of her within the first twenty four hours of being born, this is it.
I will carry on with the journal over the coming months ( is the plan)
This week I did a workshop with JOFY and made a money box using Jo's stamps, here is a picture of what we all made, mine is the second from the right( not quite finished)

I have also made six ATCs to swap if anyone wants to do a swap with me  I have done 3 Stampotique ones and 3 with a Clarity stamp, e mail me and let me know which you would like, my e mail is on the right hand side of my blog.
Thank you for visiting my desk and if you would like to visit more crafty desks just click on the link marked stamping ground and Julia will explain all.
Thank you for leaving a comment, I will return your visit!

Stampotique Designers Challenge.........148 Steampunk !

It's Wednesday and we have a new challenge.
This week Kathi set us the challenge, there is a link to her blog on the right hand side of my post.
This is what Kathi had to say ......"Steampunk is an inspired movement of creativity and imagination. With a backdrop of either Victorian England or America’s Wild West at hand, modern technologies are re-imagined and realized as elaborate works of art, fashion, and mechanics. If Jules Verne or H.G. Wells were writing their science fiction today, it would be considered “steampunk.”"
So with this in mind I choose these three stamps and set to work......
This is what I made, a canvas, my very first attempt at a canvas......
Here are a few step by step photos to give you an idea how I made this
First I die cut some cogs from cardboard and added some metal ones and laid them on the canvas.
Next I covered it with layers of tissue using mod lodge to stick it down, about five in all
Then I sprayed it with Dylusions ink
When dry added Inka gold
Next I stamped these two images from stampotique and coloured them in
Then stamped this steampunk stampotique stamp five times and made a Long boarder and coloured and blended that
Next I cut it out and put tape round the outside of the canvas to tidy and neaten it up
Then I put the long boarders round the outside glued the images and quote in place and here is my first canvas!
Now it's over to you..... Show us your steampunk and join us at the stampotique designers challenge the link is on the right hand side of this post.
Thank you for leaving a comment I will pop over to your blog in return :)

What's on my Work desk Wednesday

Here is my desk in all it's glory !!!!
Glorious mess!!!!! In my defence I have been  at my daughters mon-fri so only home at the weekends to craft and do household jobs! This week I am more 50/50 home and at her house now she is organised and all is progressing with the baby. So please forgive me that I have not been as good at returning comments and posting etc.
Here is my desk a little closer ......
There is a couple of masks on my desk, lots of stampotique rubber stamps ( some have been there weeks!) selection of tapes, ball tools I use to shape flowers, distress inks, some spotty paper I have been using, to do a sketch challenge!!!! First one I have ever done! Not quite finished will show you next week when it's finished. At the back on my stand is the first canvas I have ever made, here it is close up....
It started out looking like this
Then onto this

It was a real challenge to me to do and I used Inka gold on it that I have never worked with before .....
I also organised a workshop with a friend a couple of weeks ago for a dozen or so crafty friends and we learnt some fun painting skills and I made this, it was a bit out of my comfort zone, but fun to do!
Well that's almost it from me this week.... I have a challenge ahead of me for the weekend .... I have been printing baby Lara photos and will start her album doing it in a 'project life type' of way ...
Well thank you for your visit and I will return it, as soon as possible!

Stampotique Designers Challenge ......... 147

This week we have a challenge to add a Tag to your artwork!
This  week Kaz set us the challenge, and this is what she said........I love using tags on things I make, so my challenge is simple: whatever you make, put a tag on it. You can make a tag for the challenge, but it has to have a tag on it!!
So that's what I did I made a tag and put a Tag on it, here it is can you see the little tag I added.....
I used these Stampotique stamps to make the tag and removed the sign and added the lavender, and a little tag.
I also got my sewing machine out and did a little sewing, all the fabric has been sew on!.

Also had lots of fun using some distress inks and stencils
After I had inked the tag I used Frances new coffee stain stamp on the back ground along with carols tiny cube .
I coloured the image with Prisma crayons and cut it out
Thus my Tag!
Now it's over to you .... Please come and join us at the challenge blog, the link is on the right hand side of my blog.

What's on my Work desk Wednesday

This is how my desk looks, I took this picture very late last night.
And to help here is a slightly closer view....
I have only had very limited crafting time this week as most my time is being spent at my daughters house giving her some support with the new baby.
However on my desk you can see ink, stamping Matt, distress inks, small journal with a pot on with my blending stubs in, double sided tape, Inka gold ( will show you next week how I have been using that) Tim Holtz tag die, lots of Stampotique rubber stamps, at the back a tag I made, and I did some sewing on this!.... Let me show you
This is a close up of the tag, the purple dot fabric I actually sewed onto the card,
Here is my machine in action ( trying to impress LLJ here!!!! )
And on that subject I would like to show you what kind Lunch Lady Jan sent in the post this week for baby Lara
Note the bunting hanging up.... Well that arrived in the post this week from Jan. I would like to say a big thank you to her from myself and Lara and mummy and daddy, that was so kind of you to make it, and we all LOVE it!
Well that's it from me this week, hope to get some crafting done this week end, if you would like to see some other crafty desk, just click on the link marked Stamping Ground on the right hand side further down the page and Julia will explain it all.
Thank you for your comments I will return your visit( last week I missed four or five return visits due to running out of time, I apologise if one of them you you)

Stampotique Designers Challenge 146

Well here we are with challenge 146..... To use an Orange  and Pink background.
Corrie from the design team has set this challenge and this is what she said....

"Hello everybody and happy Wednesday to you. I am hosting today's Challenge and I would like you to use pink and orange in your background.
Now my mother used to tell me that orange and pink don't go together but because I am a rebel, I think they do !!! So I would like you to use pink and orange in the background of your project. I am looking forward to see what you come up with.

There is a link on the right to Corrie' blog if you would like to have a look round.

With this in mind I started to think what I could do...... I decided for a change to get all my stampotique alphabet stamps out and Great Moon by Jo Capper Sandon #3044

And this is what I made in my journal
Here are a few step by step pictures to show you how I made this journal page......
First I spray my paper with Dylusions inks an orange a pink and lots of white, then I dragged a straw across then left it to dry.... I stamped my quote using different stampotique alphabet stamps.
Then stamped the great moon onto the background
Then cut out the words I wanted
Then I used distress ink and added a wash to the words and the moon.
Next I put a boarder round some
Stuck the letters and words in place ..... And there you have it my journal page!
Now it's over to you to see what you can do ... Click on this link and off you go
